Risk Education on EO for the Population

Trainings, lectures, and materials for community residents – how to recognize danger, how to act when finding explosive remnants of war. Prevention saves lives.

One of the main tasks of the «ATOM» Charitable Foundation is to inform the population about the risks associated with mines and other explosive remnants of war, as well as to increase the level of knowledge and understanding of the potential risks that may be caused by mines and explosive ordnance.

The objectives of the risk education conducted by the personnel of the «ATOM» Charitable Foundation are:

• to convey information about the risks associated with explosive ordnance to the most vulnerable groups of the population through all possible means of communication and information sources;
• to ensure the effectiveness of knowledge acquisition through capacity building of information and educational activities with the population of territorial communities, as well as with representatives of government and non-governmental enterprises, institutions and organizations, including government authorities;
• to identify specific causes and motives that lead to risky behavior in the context of the situation with contamination of the territory of Ukraine with explosive ordnance;
• to promote the creation and strengthening of social norms and best practices for changing the behavior of the local population towards safer practices.
